As the full day trip to Rainbow Mountain and Sacred Valley of Incas, Humantay Lake Peru Tour is one of the popular full day trips from Cusco. The turquoise lake nestles at 4,200 meters above sea level high up in the Peruvian Andes.
Lake Humantay is the first stop on the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. It has played a significant role in the life of Incas and continues to be sacred to the local community even today. Andean priests (Shamans) visit the lake to seek blessings from Apus (Sacred Peaks) and Pachamama (Mother Earth).
The high altitude trekking experience is the best way to prepare for your Inca Trail or any other treks to Machu Picchu.
The glacier lake nestles on the foothills of Mount Humantay. It is formed by the melting snow of the mountain.
On this full day hike to Humantay Lake Peru, you will also get an insight to the traditions and life of the local communities living here. You will also be able to spot many Alpacas, Llamas and Vicunas.
Please note this is a high altitude experience, we highly recommend you to acclimate in Cusco to avoid altitude sickness while you visit Humantay Lake.
We offer the full day tour both in private as a small group tour.
